Dr. Jeffrey Stirling has served as Music Director of the Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra since 2004. He lives in the Twin Cities where he conducts the Northeast Orchestra and the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) Philharmonic. He has also been a cover conductor for the Minnesota Orchestra and last season appeared in concerts with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. He has been a guest conductor with the Bemidji Symphony and the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Stirling holds degrees from Yale and Northwestern University, and has pursued advanced training in France with the late Charles Bruck, and at the Paris Conservatory. In 2001, Stirling was chosen by Leonard Slatkin to take part in the National Conducting Institute with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. Stirling also has participated in conducting programs at the Tanglewood Festival, the Salzburg Summer Academy and the Fontainebleau School. His mentors have included Pierre Boulez, Leonard Slatkin, Marin Alsop and Victor Yampolsky. In recent years Dr. Stirling has directed the orchestra programs at Luther College, the University of Northern Iowa, Gustavus Adolphus College and Saint Cloud State University.
